EMIRATIZATION

Ever since it was established in 2001, Emirates Steel has been committed to provide support to the recruitment and development of UAE nationals. Under the slogan "developing skills and talent to grow our nation", Emirates Steel has initiated strategies and developed practices to support the delivery of industrial expertise and technical knowhow to young nationals as part of its corporate social responsibility and community involvement. By giving nationals first-hand experience of the work environment, we contribute to the development of a talent pool of well-qualified and experienced young nationals to lead the future of Emirates Steel and the industrial sector in Abu Dhabi.
Emirates Steel`s recruitment strategy focuses on maintaining a steady and healthy flow of fresh and experienced nationals joining the business. By developing, coaching and mentoring university and college graduates, Emirates Steel creates more opportunities for UAE nationals to engage in operational, engineering and administrative activities. The objective is to equip and empower future generations of nationals with the necessary expertise, competencies, abilities and drive to develop and support the growth of the local industrial sector.
As part of its corporate social responsibility, Emirates Steel sponsors high school graduates to develop a future talent pool of technically qualified nationals to further support its Emiratization drive. To ensure their development, rigorous orientation and skill enhancement programs are in place to support and deliver required job competencies.
To support the development of nationals, Emirates Steel has adopted an Individual Development Plan (IDP) to track and monitor the progress of its national employees throughout their training. In addition, the HR Training and Career Development team provides mentoring, coaching and guidance to nationals who are operational, under development or on scholarship programs. The HR team supports a learning and development culture for all employees, mainly nationals, through IDP and Performance Management Systems, which are key tools for personal and career development.
