PRODUCT RANGE
Emirates Steel`s product range includes straight length reinforcing bar (rebar) and rebar in coil; rebar being used to provide tensile strength to concrete sections in the construction sector. The range also includes wire rod, drawing qualities of rods in coil that are used in engineering applications. As part of the Company`s continuing expansion programs, it will also produce, in future, hot rolled steel sections, such as beams, columns, channels, angles and sheet piles starting June 2012.
The construction sector is the primary consumer of the Company`s current rebar and wire rod products. Sections are also used in construction, but around 60 to 80 per cent of demand comes from industrial and engineering applications, such as oil & gas and petrochemical facilities, transmission towers, pre-engineered buildings and truck trailers.
Upon the completion of its expansion programs, Emirates Steel will be amongst the few regional integrated steel producers and will be able to supply an incomparable range of products within the GCC.
